Marks Consulting Partners are currently looking for a Housing Officer to work with one of our Housing Association clients in South London.
What the job will be doing?
- Provide an excellent housing and neighbourhood management service to tenants and care partners.
- Manage tenancy responsibilities including sign-ups, rent collection, income recovery, void turnaround, estate inspections and tenancy enquiries.
- Investigate allegations of tenancy breaches, such as anti-social behaviour, hate crime and domestic abuse in a sensitive manner, taking robust action when required.
- Prepare and assist the presentation of cases for legal action in court, liaising with colleagues and solicitors as appropriate.
- Report and monitor repairs using Pyramid housing management systems.
- Work with contractors and colleagues to ensure repairs are completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
- Build positive working relationships with tenants, care providers, contractors, local authorities and colleagues to support effective service delivery.
- Support finance colleagues with monitoring service charge payments and income recovery where required.
- Monitor estate services and contractors to ensure homes and communal areas remain safe, clean and well maintained.
- Work closely with care and support providers to ensure clear responsibilities, effective communication and appropriate support arrangements for tenants.
- Carry out property inspections and homeliness visits, taking action to resolve issues and support safe, comfortable homes for tenants.
- Ensure health, safety and compliance checks are completed and follow-up actions are recorded accurately using Pyramid.
- Monitor Fire Risk Assessments and ensure identified actions are completed in partnership with care providers and colleagues.
- Where applicable, to assist in ensuring that properties that are subject to the House in Multiple Occupancy (HMO) licensing standards meet these standards and that an HMO licence is granted.
- Be an active presence across your patch, visiting tenants and care partners to provide visible, responsive housing support.
- To actively work with colleagues across the business to identify and implement positive ways to increase tenant participation and voice in the Charity’s work.
What you will need?
- driving license
- Have experience in housing, supported housing or neighbourhood management
- Are confident building positive relationships with tenants and partner agencies
- Can manage competing priorities and work independently
- Communicate clearly and professionally
