Brook, affectionately known as the ‘mum’ of our group, recently moved onto the Property & Surveying desk covering the South East, bringing her trademark energy and dedication with her. She originally joined Marks Consulting Partners just over two years ago on the Regeneration & Development desk. With a strong mind and an incredible work ethic, Brook consistently goes above and beyond, taking initiative and showing unwavering dedication in everything she does.

Her determined personality makes her thrive in the recruitment world. Brook knows how to turn any opportunity, whether a challenge or a win, into something positive, always making the most of what comes her way. If she’s not deep in conversation with a candidate, you’ll likely find her raiding the snack drawer or adding goodies to the Ocado shop!

But Brook doesn’t just shine in recruitment. She’s also our (self-appointed and much-loved) Social Media Manager, a role she may secretly prefer! Brook runs all of our social media channels and is the creative force behind the quirky, engaging videos that have helped us attract new talent. Thanks to her artistic flair and background in textiles, our online presence is becoming a real standout in the industry.

Matthew joined Marks Consulting Partners eight years ago as a trainee with zero experience, unless you count trying to convince his mates to play golf with him as headhunting. Fast forward to today, Matthew is now an Associate Director specialising in the property and surveying industry, helping public sector client’s source technical candidates.

With a degree in Psychology, he likes to think he has a decent read on people. And this does show with how closely he works with his clients and candidates to make recruiting as smooth as possible.

Ethan specialises in recruiting across the Regeneration and Development sector, supporting public sector clients in finding the very best technical property professionals. His focus areas include Development, Regeneration, Planning, and Estates/General Practice.

With over four years dedicated exclusively to this sector, Ethan has developed a strong understanding of the market and the intricacies of the roles he recruits for. Joshua studied Law at University and was for 12 years a Parish Councillor in his hometown of Milton Keynes chairing the organisation for 8 years.

Marks Consulting Partners are currently looking for a Homeless Prevention Manager to work with one of our Local Authority clients in Sussex.

What the job will be doing?

  • Leading and managing the day-to-day operational delivery of the Housing Advice and Homelessness Prevention Service
  • Ensuring the Council's statutory homelessness duties are discharged effectively and in accordance with current legislation
  • Providing leadership, guidance and oversight on complex homelessness and housing options cases
  • Supporting legal challenges, including Judicial Reviews and Section 204 appeals
  • Driving a prevention-focused approach to homelessness, ensuring innovative and cost-effective solutions are identified for residents
  • Managing referrals received under the Duty to Refer and ensuring timely interventions are delivered
  • Working closely with Housing Associations, landlords and partner agencies to prevent homelessness at the earliest opportunity
  • Developing and implementing service improvements to enhance customer outcomes and service performance
  • Building strong partnerships with Social Care, Health Services, Probation, Police and voluntary sector organisations
  • Representing the service at multi-agency meetings including MARAC and MAPPA panels
  • Monitoring service performance, KPIs and casework quality to ensure legal compliance and excellent customer service
  • Managing, coaching and developing Housing Options Officers through regular supervision, appraisals and training
  • Producing performance reports and statistical information for senior management
  • Leading the team through legislative and organisational change whilst maintaining high service standards

What you will need?

  • Significant experience within Housing Options, Homelessness Prevention or Housing Needs services
  • Strong knowledge of Housing Act 1996 Part VII, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and associated legislation
  • Experience managing homelessness prevention teams within a Local Authority environment
  • Experience overseeing complex homelessness cases and making legally robust decisions
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, domestic abuse, MAPPA and MARAC processes
  • Experience managing staff performance, workloads and service delivery targets
  • Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to develop effective partnerships with internal and external agencies
  • Experience driving service improvement and implementing operational changes
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
