Brook, affectionately known as the ‘mum’ of our group, recently moved onto the Property & Surveying desk covering the South East, bringing her trademark energy and dedication with her. She originally joined Marks Consulting Partners just over two years ago on the Regeneration & Development desk. With a strong mind and an incredible work ethic, Brook consistently goes above and beyond, taking initiative and showing unwavering dedication in everything she does.

Her determined personality makes her thrive in the recruitment world. Brook knows how to turn any opportunity, whether a challenge or a win, into something positive, always making the most of what comes her way. If she’s not deep in conversation with a candidate, you’ll likely find her raiding the snack drawer or adding goodies to the Ocado shop!

But Brook doesn’t just shine in recruitment. She’s also our (self-appointed and much-loved) Social Media Manager, a role she may secretly prefer! Brook runs all of our social media channels and is the creative force behind the quirky, engaging videos that have helped us attract new talent. Thanks to her artistic flair and background in textiles, our online presence is becoming a real standout in the industry.

Matthew joined Marks Consulting Partners eight years ago as a trainee with zero experience, unless you count trying to convince his mates to play golf with him as headhunting. Fast forward to today, Matthew is now an Associate Director specialising in the property and surveying industry, helping public sector client’s source technical candidates.

With a degree in Psychology, he likes to think he has a decent read on people. And this does show with how closely he works with his clients and candidates to make recruiting as smooth as possible.

What the job will be doing?

  • Managing and supporting a wide range of property and land transactions including leasehold and freehold acquisitions/disposals, lease extensions, rights of way, easements, licences and Right to Buy matters.
  • Producing and reviewing property-related plans and maps to support legal transactions, including Land Registry compliant plans.
  • Providing support and advice on commercial leases, conveyancing processes, title documentation, ownership queries and boundary matters.
  • Maintaining and updating property and asset records, ensuring land and property transactions are accurately recorded and documented.
  • Researching and analysing information from a variety of property, mapping and legal data sources including Land Registry records and utility/highways searches.
  • Handling property ownership enquiries, including FOI requests, and liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders.
  • Producing reports and carrying out data analysis relating to rents, lease events, property records and asset information.
  • Supporting wider estates and asset management projects through mapping, GIS and geospatial analysis where required.

What you will need?

  • Previous experience working within property transactions, estates management, commercial leases or legal conveyancing.
  • Strong understanding of Land Registry processes, title plans and property documentation.
  • Experience interpreting leases, deeds, easements and boundary information.
  • Ability to manage and maintain property records and databases accurately.
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience within a local authority or public sector property environment would be beneficial.
  • GIS or mapping experience, including production of plans/maps, would be advantageous.
  • Experience using property asset management or terrier systems would be a bonus.
