Jake Marks

Director

Recruitment isn't just a job; it's a passion – and one Jake’s been chasing since 2013! After consistently smashing targets placing interim surveyors in the public sector, Jake and his brother decided to take the plunge and launch Marks Consulting Partners in 2015.

More recently, Jake has established a private consultancy desk focusing on permanent recruitment for building and quantity surveyors.

Toby Marks

Director

Toby has spent over 10 years recruiting professionals across the property and surveying sectors, building strong relationships and a deep understanding of the industry along the way. His focus has always been on connecting the right people with the right opportunities, while keeping things straightforward and effective.

Now, Toby is concentrating on the continued growth of Marks Consulting Partners. He is passionate about developing both experienced and up-and-coming recruiters, creating an environment where people feel valued, supported, and motivated to achieve their goals. Company culture and employee wellbeing sit at the heart of his approach, ensuring the team can thrive both personally and professionally.

Outside the office, Toby is a husband and dad of two. When he does find some free time, he’s usually enjoying good food, listening to music, or attempting DIY projects, often with mixed results.

Brook Weissand

Senior Recruitment Consultant

Brook, affectionately known as the ‘mum’ of our group, recently moved onto the Property & Surveying desk covering the South East, bringing her trademark energy and dedication with her. She originally joined Marks Consulting Partners just over two years ago on the Regeneration & Development desk. With a strong mind and an incredible work ethic, Brook consistently goes above and beyond, taking initiative and showing unwavering dedication in everything she does.

Her determined personality makes her thrive in the recruitment world. Brook knows how to turn any opportunity, whether a challenge or a win, into something positive, always making the most of what comes her way. If she’s not deep in conversation with a candidate, you’ll likely find her raiding the snack drawer or adding goodies to the Ocado shop!

But Brook doesn’t just shine in recruitment. She’s also our (self-appointed and much-loved) Social Media Manager, a role she may secretly prefer! Brook runs all of our social media channels and is the creative force behind the quirky, engaging videos that have helped us attract new talent. Thanks to her artistic flair and background in textiles, our online presence is becoming a real standout in the industry.

Sadie Haralambous

Recruitment Consultant

Since joining in 2023, Sadie has proved her ability to adapt quickly. She initially started off recruiting for HR and built her knowledge in the sector. Soon after, she joined the Property and Surveying team for the North/Midlands and quickly became an irreplaceable part of the team, proving that no challenge is too big. Since the change, Sadie has provided a breath of fresh air to an otherwise male-dominated industry.

Sadie has shown she is more than just a recruiter to her candidates and often provides added support on a personal level. Her kindness never goes unappreciated and is reflected in her number of 5-star reviews.

Never short of a funny comment or accidental one-liner, Sadie keeps the office laughing nonstop, whether she means to or not, we’re still not sure! Her combination of hard work and positive outlook makes her second to none. She always holds both clients’ and candidates’ needs in the highest regard, making her the go-to recruiter when it comes to Property and Surveying in the North.

What our team say

Brook Weissand

Recruitment Consultant

I joined Marks Consulting Partners straight out of university, and it’s been the best decision I could have made for my career. From the very beginning, I was given the tools, training, and support to grow, not just as a recruiter, but as a person.

Over time I’ve seen my confidence and ambition develop massively. MCP has a culture that encourages you to push yourself, celebrate wins, and keep striving for the next goal. The environment is energetic, supportive, and genuinely rewarding – whether it’s through incentives, progression opportunities, or simply being recognised for hard work.

What I love most is that every day is different, and I get to work alongside a team that feels more like a family. The values, the culture, and the drive of the company make it a place where you actually look forward to coming into work.

I couldn’t be happier to be part of MCP, and I’m excited to see how far I can go here.

Matthew Newton

Managing Consultant

I joined Marks Consulting Partners as a trainee recruiter and have been fortunate enough to work my way up to Managing Consultant. The progression opportunities here have been fantastic, the business genuinely rewards hard work and commitment, and I’ve always felt supported on my journey.

From day one, I’ve had access to continuous training and mentoring, which has not only improved my skills but also given me the confidence to take on new challenges. The team culture is one of the best things about working here, collaborative, honest, and always pushing each other to achieve more.

What really sets MCP apart is the family feel combined with a professional, ambitious environment. I’ve been trusted with responsibility early on, but never without the guidance and backing to succeed. Every day brings something new, and I know there’s always scope to keep developing further.

I’m proud to be part of a company that values its people just as much as its clients and candidates. The last few years have been a brilliant journey, and I’m excited about what’s still to come.

Joshua Bourne

Recruitment Consultant

Since joining Marks Consulting Partners, I’ve built an established desk within the housing sector and have really enjoyed making it my own. One of the best things about working here is that my success is truly down to me, the harder I work, the more I achieve and I always have a supportive team around me to do this.

The culture at MCP is incredibly supportive, with colleagues who are always willing to share knowledge, celebrate wins, and push each other forward. It’s a company that combines a family feel with forward-thinking ideas, which makes it an exciting place to be.

I’ve been given the freedom and responsibility to grow my desk, alongside the backing and resources to really succeed. The balance between independence and support is what makes MCP stand out, and I’m proud to be part of a team that’s ambitious, driven, and always looking ahead.
