Building Surveyor

• To manage building projects from inception through to completion, including obtaining relevant statutory approvals, preparing technical specifications, overseeing contracts and managing budgets to ensure service requirements and organisational objectives are met while achieving value for money.
• To undertake inspections and surveys of buildings and associated fabric owned or leased by the organisation, covering maintenance, repairs, alterations, improvements, design, servicing, risk assessments and condition monitoring, ensuring properties are maintained to an appropriate standard within allocated financial resources.
• To deliver specialist technical guidance and professional advice to internal departments and teams on building-related matters, including building envelope issues, refurbishment works, property defects, disrepair and major capital schemes.
• To coordinate and manage internal teams, external consultants and contractors to ensure building projects are delivered efficiently, within agreed timescales and in line with approved budgets.
• To act as the principal contact for insurance matters, property disrepair claims and other legal or compensation-related issues.
• To prepare detailed technical documentation, including specifications, schedules of works, property condition assessments, dilapidation reports and reports relating to fire or storm damage.
• To also raise and manage work orders with contractors and suppliers, ensuring accurate records are maintained and works are clearly defined and effectively instructed.

• Ideally Social Housing experience
