Brook has been with Marks Consulting Partners for 3.5 years, originally joining the Regeneration & Development desk before moving to the Property & Surveying desk, covering the South East. Recently promoted to Team Lead, she brings a strong work ethic, determination and plenty of energy to the team.

But Brook doesn’t just shine in recruitment. She’s also our (self-appointed and much-loved) Social Media Manager, a role she may secretly prefer! Brook runs all of our social media channels and is the creative force behind the engaging videos that have gained over 3million views and helped us attract new talent.

Matthew joined Marks Consulting Partners eight years ago as a trainee with zero experience, unless you count trying to convince his mates to play golf with him as headhunting. Fast forward to today, Matthew is now an Associate Director specialising in the property and surveying industry, helping public sector client’s source technical candidates.

With a degree in Psychology, he likes to think he has a decent read on people. And this does show with how closely he works with his clients and candidates to make recruiting as smooth as possible.

Marks Consulting Partners are currently looking for a Maintenance Officer to work with one of our Council clients in Sussex.

What the job will be doing?

  • This role is titled Housing maintenance officer and will encompass managing maintenance on our 60 houses used for temporary accommodation, affordable accommodation and resettlement accommodation.
  • The hours of work are between 9.00- 5pm Monday – Friday and the position has an immediate start date.
  • Support and assist the Property & Facilities Manager with the delivery of repairs and maintenance of the residential portfolio and ensure that repairs are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Monitor and supervise contractors undertaking repairs and maintenance and ensure the safety, certification, quality and completion of all works before final invoices are paid and in line with agreed costs and our approved budgets.
  • Provide advice, guidance and permission in line with relevant policies and procedures such as alterations or rechargeable repairs to ensure that a consistent service is provided.
  • By working closely with other departments of the Council, improve performance and ensure collaborative working and a consistent level of service.
  • Assist in the delivery of projects within the residential portfolio, for example those which are required to ensure that our properties remain accessible and meet our customers’ changing needs, and those which are part of the Council’s carbon reduction plans.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, to ensure that we meet our agreed Key Performance Indicators, Service Level Agreements and comply with the relevant legislation.

What you will need?

  • The position is mainly office based but on occasion there will be a need to visit properties and the candidates should have their own vehicle that can be used.
