Brook has been with Marks Consulting Partners for 3.5 years, originally joining the Regeneration & Development desk before moving to the Property & Surveying desk, covering the South East. Recently promoted to Team Lead, she brings a strong work ethic, determination and plenty of energy to the team.

But Brook doesn’t just shine in recruitment. She’s also our (self-appointed and much-loved) Social Media Manager, a role she may secretly prefer! Brook runs all of our social media channels and is the creative force behind the engaging videos that have gained over 3million views and helped us attract new talent.

Matthew joined Marks Consulting Partners eight years ago as a trainee with zero experience, unless you count trying to convince his mates to play golf with him as headhunting. Fast forward to today, Matthew is now an Associate Director specialising in the property and surveying industry, helping public sector client’s source technical candidates.

With a degree in Psychology, he likes to think he has a decent read on people. And this does show with how closely he works with his clients and candidates to make recruiting as smooth as possible.

Marks Consulting Partners are currently looking for a Damp Surveyor to work with one of our Council clients in South London.

What the job will be doing?

  • Must be an Experienced Damp Surveyor to carry out full property surveys specifically in relation to condensation & damp diagnosis and remedial action.
  • The surveyor will have reasonable scientific knowledge on the different types of mould and its likely cause & affect to residents.
  • Ongoing training within the team will help build on this knowledge going forward.
  • The surveyor will have specific knowledge of building structures and how they contribute to the cause, be able to correctly diagnose & specify remedial requirements.
  • To understand and be able to use equipment to aid with diagnostics and undertaking seasonal monitoring.
  • Must have an empathetic approach to our tenants and property conditions, able to produce drawings & floor plans, diagnose general building faults, obtain or create specifications for improvement works required with an understanding of how this may affect other components of the property/building, obtain competitive prices.

What you will need?

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to prioritise workloads, analyse and resolve problems
  • Ability to work alone to meet strict deadlines
  • Carry out post inspections, confirm satisfactory completion, authorise payments, investigate invoice queries
  • Cross-Service/Partnership working liaison skills and experience
  • Managing external resources through PFI contract partnering to ensure best value for the client
  • Respond to complaints, compliments and requests for information and consider service review and development in the light of these
