Marks Consulting Partners are currently looking for a Head of Facilities Management to work with one of our Local Authority clients in Kent/ South East London.

What the job will be doing

  • To successfully lead the Council’s Facilities Management service to ensure that the Council’s property is well managed, maintained and achieves value for money, through:
  • An effective planned maintenance programme.
  • Contract and performance management of a multidisciplinary supply chain for the delivery of planned preventative maintenance, statutory compliance testing and reactive maintenance.
  • Health and safety compliance management for the estate.
  • Strategic oversight of corporate facilities site and support services.
  • Management of fixed and variable revenue budgets and project specific capital budgets.
  • Being the lead officer on all estate and facilities collaborations.
  • Proactively managing the estate to minimise service failures.
  • To plan and implement a strategic framework of policies and procedures for Facilities Management services at all properties where the Council has management or maintenance responsibilities.
  • To provide advice to the departmental and corporate leadership team on achieving the Council’s objectives, including policy and strategy development.
  • Work with external stakeholders and internal partners to ensure high quality services that meet the needs and attract the support from stakeholders.
  • To manage the Facilities Management teams – four direct reports and a team of over 23 additional staff.
  • To manage the Council’s corporate contracts for facilities management services.
  • To lead on property based health and safety compliance
  • Take responsibility for own development performance management.
  • To manage financial transactions within regulation framework.
